Democracy’s “Fourth” Wave?

The exportation of the “Western model of democracy” is no longer a path to a potential expansion of democracy. The frustrated Arab spring and the uprising of the Islamic State have proved that the emergence of a new wave of democracy is unlikely – although not impossible in the near future.
